Colossians 3:1-4; 16-17

28 December 2025

The sermon reflects on life between Christ’s first coming and his return, urging the church to live with hope rooted not in a new year but in Jesus. From Colossians 3, it reminds believers who they are: people whose past has been settled by Christ, whose present is secure and hidden with him, and whose future is guaranteed in his coming glory. That identity is meant to shape how they think, speak, and wait together.

It then emphasizes that the church is formed by the “word of Christ” dwelling richly among them. Rather than treating Scripture as brief inspiration, believers are called to let it shape the whole culture of the church. This happens as they teach, encourage, and gently correct one another with wisdom, humility, and gratitude. The message invites Christians into deeper relationships where Christ’s word is spoken with care, so that the church becomes a worshiping, thankful community centered on Jesus.
