In this sermon on Luke 11, the pastor says Jesus teaches not only what to pray, but who God is when people pray: a good and welcoming Father. Because of Jesus, believers are invited to come to God with honesty and confidence, not as strangers trying to earn attention, but as loved children who can ask boldly for what they need. The heart of the message is that knowing God as Father should reshape prayer.
He warns against two unhealthy extremes: demanding things from God with pride, as if he were a vending machine, and holding back in unbelief, as if he were distant or uncaring. Instead, he urges humble faith: prayers that are bold, trusting, and submitted to God’s wisdom. He encourages the church to align its requests with God’s revealed will, to pray expectantly, and to trust that the Father answers in ways that are truly good.
